News From The Head Teacher 27/05/22

Dear Parents and Carers

It has been a very busy half term getting to know the children and many of you. All the children have been working very hard but I must pay a special mention to the Year 6 and Year 2 children who have sat their end of Key Stage assessments. They coped with these superbly and tried their best and that is all we could wish for.

Our last day of term was a huge success. It was lovely to see the children and staff families of Great Smeaton and Hurworth come together in a joint Jubilee celebration. Despite not having the best of weather conditions, the picnic was a lovely way for all the children to share lunch and then play. Afterwards, the children got the opportunity to join each year group class where they learnt about the decades the Queen has reigned. The had fun with the phot quiz and used lots of energy with the PE coach and dancing.

We are looking forward to welcoming the children and you back after the half term break where we will have lots more planned for the children so watch this space!
