Oak Class – 14/9/2020

Last week was a good settling in time and the children have started off as though they had never been away from school.

This week in Oak Class we will be continuing our look at Vikings. We will be writing newspaper reports about the attack on Lindisfarne and looking at how we can manipulate sentences. We will also be identifying where the Vikings came from and the areas they invaded and settled in the UK.

In English we will also be looking at basic word types (nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs).

In Maths we will be looking at the 9 and 3 times tables, identifying patterns and relationships. We will also be rounding numbers : learning to round to numbers appropriate to each year group.

We will also be starting to look at pneumatics in DT and plan a project to make a dragon/ dragon’s head move. Art will involve researching and sketching dragons for the DT project.

PE will continue to be focused on football skills. PE sessions are on Wednesday and Friday this term.

Reading books should be brought home each day and the children have the responsibility to ensure that happens.
