News from the Head Teacher – 5/10/2020
If you are on the Great Smeaton Village Newsletter distribution list, you will have seen a super article about our amazing school pond. Lesley has written it and we are using it in school with the children. As you will see an amazing amount of time and hard work has been put into its development.
Acorn class will be busy planting some seeds. Oak will also be using the area to develop their outdoor learning.
Could I please make you aware that since September and for the foreseeable future, we are not able to have any volunteer help in school. This is a decision we really did not want to take, but we do feel it is the right one at the moment to keep everyone as safe as possible. Essential professionals will continue to come into school where they are contracted to work with specific children on a medical or diagnostic basis.
Each week you will be able to check the ticker across the top of our website to let you have up to date information of any children either self-isolating, waiting for test results or any positive results. We will not give you names, but we will give you numbers… One child is or one family is …
We also have the NHS Track and Trace QCR Code displayed at the front of school.
