News from the Head Teacher – 30/9/19

Sadly last week we were informed that the KS1 Fun Run had to be postponed due to weather. The children were disappointed, but hopefully we will get a new date.

This week we have the Year 5-6 Football competition for small schools. Both boys and girls are eligible. Mr Goodchild will choose the team and the 8 children will take part and represent our school. The children have been told the criteria for being part of the team and should be able to share this with you.

Mr Goodchild told the school that following a staff decision and there being six children in Year 6, evenly spread across the three houses, we would be having two House Captains in each house.

The children received their badges last week.

This week we have a HUGE surprise for the children.

Staff this week continue with their training around children’s mental health. Compass Buzz will be delivering some training after school on Tuesday and we look forward to seeing the benefits across all key stages. Therefore, there will be no music club this week.

Our Harvest Festival will take place next Monday, 7th October at 2.30pm in St Eloys. We are again collecting tinned and dried goods for the Hambleton FoodShare.

Attendance last week was 98.9%

This week Miss Evans will be starting a new Rainbows group.
