News from the Head Teacher – 22/3/2021
Welcome to the last week of a very short half term.
Children last week enjoyed Red Nose Day in a different way. Thank you for all your efforts for both World Book Day and Red Nose Day.
This week, school closes on Friday at 2.30pm. There will be no After School Club on Friday evening.
Children return to school on TUESDAY APRIL 13th
Prior to closing for the Easter holidays, FROGS have arranged an Easter Egg Hunt for the children.
Lesley Hansen has continued to support the school with her work outside the building. The potato tubs are now ready for planting and compost and seed potatoes ordered. We are nearly ready with the new beds that have been rebuilt and the areas surrounding them. This will make it easier to maintain and for children to access.
There will be some children more interested in working in the gardening area than perhaps others. In the past we have even had a ‘Head Gardener’. This proved very useful and we hope there will be one of the older children who feels they would want to take on this role.
We have invested a great deal of time and energy making our outside learning areas even better. The pond area and now the gardening area are looking super. Lesley is also helping us with clearing the pathway down the side of the school. She has also planted snowdrops in the grassed area as you will have seen. We have a tree surgeon coming to survey the site on both health and safety grounds as well as checking some trees what we feel may need some serious ‘pruning’.
Have a lovely Easter break and hopefully, the sun will shine to allow us to meet outside with some of our special friends and family.
