News from the Head Teacher – 14/12/2020
As we approach the last week of term in what has been the most extraordinary year, I would like to wish you and your families a very happy Christmas. It is hard to imagine what it will look like for us all, but I understand Father Christmas is till on course for the big day. He has no problem with the social distancing as he and his elves are all one bubble and do not go out of their way to meet other bubbles…
You will have received the e mail from the office letting you now that we will still be finishing school on Friday afternoon at 2.30pm. We considered all the government information and feel that as such a small school, we are best placed to be in school.
It is important to point out, however, that should you or your child/ren show any signs of COVID in the days leading up to Christmas, you need to inform us as soon as possible. We will then need to inform the rest of our families.
A huge thank you to the staff who have put ‘The Grinch’ together for us. It has been very different and once Mr Thomas has edited it we will let you know how you can access it.
Please remember that it is not to go out onto any social media platform. You, as families, have filled out forms entrusting us with your data around photographs and any recordings of your children. We do not have permission to share any beyond the school without any further communication with yourselves.
We are hoping that the children enjoy the week coming up. They have a ‘Grinch’ day, a craft day, a party day and a Christmas lunch day. “Grinch” day is tomorrow, Tuesday. We are having a pyjama day. Please can children come to school dressed in their pyjamas/Christmas pyjamas. If they are wearing a onesie, please make sure it doesn’t have feet in. If children would like to wear pyjamas and a Christmas jumper or wear a dressing gown then that is fine too. No nighties or “short” shorts please. For Christmas party day on Thursday, children will need to come to school dressed in school uniform and bring their party clothes to get changed in to.
Please check the staff posts to inform you of what may be needed each day.
Carols round the tree will be in house as well on Friday afternoon. You will be able to collect your children at 2.30 following our singing. During the week we will be sending property and work home, to allow us to vacate the building allowing the cleaner to have a clear run at a good, interrupted clean.
