News from the Assistant Head Teacher – 27/4/2020

Another week in lock down and I hope everyone is remaining healthy and adhering to the advice given.

Please remember that when we return to school the children’s education will be picked up again and teachers will use their superpowers to move learning on and make up for lost time.

It has been good to hear about children who have also been learning other useful life skills such as cooking, some DIY skills and general helpful tasks around the home and garden. A special mention to Jake in Class 1 who has learned to use a jet washer and is a dab hand at washing cars (I know who to go to now when my car needs a wash!), and Joe in Class 3 who has been honing his basketball skills.

Some children have completed work at home and this has been sent to staff in school. Many children have regularly accessed Purple Mash as well.

I hope many people have had a chance to enjoy some of the good weather we have had recently, whether it is going for a daily walk or just in the garden but, unfortunately, the weather forecast is not looking so good for the next week or so. Please try to keep as stress free as possible in this unprecedented situation and if the weather forces everyone to remain more indoors. Please encourage children to access some of the work and activities recommended but do not create additional stress and anxiety if they are not willing to.

Please refer to these if you have concerns about data and staying safe when children are playing online games.
