Class 2 – 7/10/19

The weather may be grim but there are good things happening.

Harvest Festival today (Monday) .A big thank you for all the generous donations for the food bank.

 English

 The children will be using facts gathered from different sources to write about a prehistoric monument. They will then write their own thoughts and ideas about these amazing places.

Spellings this week are; Y3 irregular verbs (past tense) and Y4 Letter string “augh”

In handwriting they will be looking at letters which have a top join.

We will be using glossaries and dictionaries, finding definitions and meanings.

Maths

Times tables, x3 and x4, all children should be able to chant their 2, 5 and 10 times tables.

Word problems, searching for useful words and significant numbers to help solve problems. Telling time, o’clock, half past, quarter to and quarter pat using an analogue clock. Reading and understanding maths vocabulary connected with addition.

Our Star of the Week for last week was Bobby, for getting all of his spellings correct, consistently handing in great homework and for being a helpful member of Class 2.
