News from the Head Teacher – 8/1/19

Welcome back and a very happy new year.

I hope you had a lovely break and enjoyed all the festivities with your families and friends.

Mr Goodchild is on Jury Service for the next two weeks. He has offered to come into school to do the first part of Breakfast Club each morning before needing to be in court for 10am. We have Mrs Chambers on a supply basis during this time.

Next week we have the small schools’ swimming gala. Children picked for the team will travel by bus on Wednesday 16th and return in time for lunch.

The cut off date for children opting for their reception place 2019 is January 15th.

You will be receiving a letter from us this week letting you know about a NSPCC safeguarding assembly taking place in school on Thursday 24th January.

An exciting day for the whole school is on Friday 8th February, when the Elite Commando Survival team of ex Royal Marines will be with us for the day.

What they say:

ECS was set up and founded by former Royal Marines Commandos who wanted to bring their experience and expertise to the civilian world.

Between us we have over thirty years experience in the Royal Marines and are now able to offer our skills and expertise to the public by offering a range of courses that aid team building and personal development as well as giving a unique insight into life as a commando. From survival training designed to take people out of their comfort zone through to our Schools development programmes – we offer an experience and approach unlike any other in the market.

Our courses have been carefully designed to be challenging yet achievable to any member of the general public, and most importantly to be fun whilst instilling the virtues of self-discipline and determination.

We have a new Year 4 girl starting school tomorrow. We hope she and her family will be very happy.
