News from the Head Teacher – 4/2/19
This week we have an exciting event. On Friday we have some ex Royal Marines coming for the day to work with the children on a survival day. As they will be working outside for most of the day, please could the children come to school in appropriate outdoor clothing with waterproofs where possible. They will be getting muddy and dirty. Could you please provide a change of clothes as well, including socks and footwear.
The change of clothes does not need to be uniform.
Please could you make sure that the children have PE Kits in school all week.
We are looking at our attendance figures at the moment and they are showing some concern. There are some children who are now categorised as ‘persistent absentees’. This is a government baseline. Children who have a percentage of 85% or less attendance move into this category.
As we have said before, when children are not well it is sensible to keep them at home, please can we make every effort to keep children in school unless it is totally unavoidable. Thank you for your support.
A reminder that we are starting a Cheer-leading club on Thursday, from 3.30 to 4.15. Please can you let Mrs Beauchamp know if your child is interested in taking part.
Unfortunately, there will be no sewing club until further notice.
In case you are not aware, our half term appears to be different from other authorities this year. We break up for our half term on Friday 22nd February and return on Monday 4th March.
